David did not jump and dance as he did when he brought back the Ark of the Covenant in the City of David, He quietly sat and meditated upon the word. Then he proceed to create a vision in his inner man. He saw the Messiah, his offspring being called the Lord and wrote “ The Lord said untomy Lord sit thou at my right hand until I make thy enemies as thyfootstool” (Psalm 110:1) he continue in his meditation and saw him being the High Priest of our confession after the order of Melchizedek not after the order of Aaron. He then saw him hanging at the cross and wrote “For dogs have encompassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: They pierced my hand and my feet. I may tell all my bones;they look and stare upon me.”(Psalm 22:16-17) ‘ he understood the value of the human sacrificed and concluded in verse 31 with “ They shall come and shall declared his righteousness unto a people that shall be born that he has done this”.
David received the word that :The Lord is with him. that " He will appoint a place and plant Israel there", The Lord will make is name great and built him a dynasty. His son will succeed him on the throne and The Lord will established him a throne and an everlasting kingdom, A son of him will build the temple for the Glory of God, after his days are fulfilled and he slept with his fathers.
Meditation on the word release faith.
"Faith come by hearinghearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17) .
Seeing how David obtained a spiritual understanding of the word he received from Nathan, we also ought to imitate him in order to receive a clear picture of the promise given to us by prophecy or by a revelation obtained from reading the word of God.
David took what was said to him with faith and wrote many Messianic Psalms. We ought to give life to our promise and speak about as if it is real. Faith give substance to a hope. David saw the coming of the Messiah, his sufferings and his death on the cross, we ought to see our promise from the beginning to the end also.
I had received a word last year that my ministry will reach out the Asiatic people, I did not received the word with faith, I doubted because in my heart I do not see how I could reach a people that are very defensive of their privacy. I did not asked the Lord for a blue-print on how to do it but I acted asthe people of Israel when they received the report of the 12 spies. They received it with unbelief, I saw Giant in the Land. I gave it a trial and thought If I distribute tracks I may have a foot there. The Lord did not honor me because I act with unbelief. I also did not continue long enough for the action to bring fruit.
Was I consistent in my search to reach the Asiatic?
After reading what David did with the prophecy He had received, I start thinking about why I failed. I realized that I ought to go to spiritual warfare to produce result. I understood faith without work is dead. I repositioned my self in prayer and I was able to reach out to one Chinese girl. I love her very much and I am her mentor. I decide to study the Chinese language and culture in order to relate to them; I am one step further than I was. I have to conquer many Chineses and give them to the Lord..
David prepared for action
The Eight chapter of the book of Samuel the first verse reads: "After this it came to pass David smote the Philistines and subdued them" the whole chapter is about the war and conquest, how the spoil was allotted to the house of the Lord. David knew the Lord said: " I will appoint a place for my people Israel an will plant them that they might dwell in a place of their own and move no more: (2 Samuel 7: 10). David went to war to establish Israel and plant them in aplace they might dwell, and to secure his throne against his enemies and also to consecrate the spoil to the house of God.
Did you go to war against the wicked in order to establish or plant your promise on a good ground? I sat at first doing nothing expecting the promise to fall upon my lap. Many of us look at our inability to perform instead of asking the Lord in prayer how to overcome. We have all read the word of the Prophet Habakkuk" The vision is yet for an appointed time" in our inaction we stop right there we omit to read the full verse " For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it because it will surely come it will not tarry. Behold his soul which his lifted up is not upright in him but the just shall live by faith. (Habakkuk 2:3,4)
Next week we will discuss what Jesus told us to do in order to establish our vision.
